I hope you are all doing well today and Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
First off I would like to talk to you guys about color.
So we have Cool, Neutral, and Warm colors.
From those names I assume you know which ones are cool, neutral, and warm. For those of you who don't, have no fear! I'll get into deeper detail about them.
So I like to look at these colors like a color spectrum (basically what it is).
So here is a good visual of the color spectrum for the warm to cool colors.
For the cool colors you have any version of Purple/violet, blue/indigo, and green. These colors are known as cool colors and they have a colder feel to them. The warm colors are more of the reds, yellows, and oranges.
These colors often are paired which each other based on the opposite color of the wheel (blue and orange, red and green, purple and yellow etc) So you can kind of see how some people pair complimentary colors. For those of you who are beginners in Men's Fashion, you can start pairing your complimentary colors with the wheel. But keep in mind there will be variations of each other with tone, lightness, darkness, intensity etc.
Keep in mind that you can pair warm colors with warm and cool colors with cool but in moderation. You don't want to walk around looking like a giant red block or a giant blue block! Different hues and tones of colors are acceptable in an ensemble but be careful. I personally find it easier to match cooler colors with cooler colors rather than warmer colors with warmer colors. But in the end it's just my preference.
For now I will keep the color wheel to a minimum just so it's not so much information at once and I don't want to be that guy that posts super long novels in each entry.
